Our poster campaign, "Because Words Can Lead to Violence", encourages people to report anti-GLBT hate violence and raises awareness of the threats constantly faced by GLBT people throughout the state.

Created in February 2000, this campaign was funded by Stryker Foundation. The funding allowed Triangle Foundation to create and print the posters, and distribute them widely throughout the state. Currently, our posters are displayed at bookstores, bars and many other GLBT-friendly or owned establishments across the state. Additionally, teachers and counselors have placed the posters in schools, helping raise awareness of hate crimes.
